<p>RAC was established in 1985 as an agency for recruitment and promotion for
posts covered in Defence Research and Development Services (DRDS).
RAC makes available quality scientific manpower to different DRDO labs
for helping them complete their projects including mission mode projects
in important areas of technologies required for the Services. DRDO's
mission mode projects pertain to areas like missiles, electronics, life sciences,
naval systems, vehicles and armaments, aeronautics and many other
branches of engineering and technology. RAC addresses this challenge of tapping and
retaining bright scientific talent at various levels through various schemes
realising its core functions.</p>
<p>In order to evolve a transparent system with a high degree of credibility,
RAC engages eminent experts with requisite domain knowledge from academic institutes,
scientific organizations and the industry who are adept in assessing not only
the scientific and technical competence but also the personal attributes,
managerial skills, attitude and aptitude of the candidates. RAC is, therefore
always on the lookout for engaging such experts. If you think that you are one
such expert having <strong>20 or more years of experience</strong> in Academics/ Research &
Development in Govt./ Industry, and willing to participate in the processes of

The status of shortlisting for interview is likely to be declared during the last week of January to February 2024 based on the discipline/subject of candidates. Thereafter, as per para 5 of Advt. no. 145, shortlisted candidates will be required to confirm their willingness to appear for interview, and also select their own interview date from the interview calendar that shall be made available discipline-wise/item-wise from time to time at the RAC website. <br> <br>
The interview calendar for each discipline will be open only for a fixed period of time (5 days) during which the interview dates will be released incrementally (50% dates at a time only during 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.) for selection by candidates on first-come-first-served basis. As and when the interview scheduling window gets opened for their respective disciplines, shortlisted candidates will be notified through SMS/email to login at the RAC website and choose their interview date themselves.<br><br>

The competent authority after going through their explanation have debarred them for applying against any DRDO vacancy for a period of three years till 30-August, 2022.
